Mom Photoshoot 1

hi there! i saw your photo come up in my stacks of watches and i was instantly drawn to it. i don't feel comfortable leaving a full fledged critique on another artists work (as i'm not confident enough in my own skills to be able to word it correctly) but i have a few pointers on positioning of your model. and because its pictures of your mom (my mom is my best friend, so i realize how very important capturing her essence is) i feel like i can actually give you some helpful ideas!
first off, your lighting is well done. you've captured her natural glow, and her lovely eyes. the eyes have so much soul to them!!! i might suggest helping to even your models face by repositioning her hands. the way she has them right now, she's slightly distorting one side of her face. perhaps putting her hands at a more relaxed positioning, or rather, not forcing them against the face at all. give more space between the hand and the face. i think that would help. also, giving more shoulder/chest area would help lengthen the shot.
again, you have an amazing start to wonderful portraiture. and i find it awesome that you've chosen the classic posing and all and used your mom as your model. thats so very special, not just for her, but for you and for future generations. keep these shots close to your heart!
